The Endocannabinoid System

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a network of receptors located in the brain and throughout the nervous system; it is the body’s way of maintaining and regulating the homeostasis of crucial body functions. The system of CB1 and CB2 receptors functions primarily to interact with endocannabinoids to regulate integral body functions like reproduction, motor learning, memory, pain modulation, stress, and sleep.

There are several different cannabinoids, that the ECS can interact with/produce. While ECS creates its own endocannabinoids (‘Endo,’ meaning within the body) to support the regulation of these body systems, a supplementary addition of external cannabinoids can be largely beneficial in supporting the ECS.

    Phytocannabinoid Efficacy

The question remains: just how effective are phytocannabinoids? In a clinical study conducted by the Brightfield Group©, data was collected from 2,400 phytocannabinoid users to provide insight into the perceptions, experiences, and effectiveness of phytocannabinoid products.

When asked about overall symptom relief from stress, sleep, and other common difficulties, more than 4 out of 5 respondents indicated phytocannabinoids to be extremely effective. In fact, the vast majority (82-83%) of people experienced effective relief using phytocannabinoids. Additionally, about 70% of respondents indicated that hemp-derived phytocannabinoids were either ‘More effective’ or ‘Much more effective’ in relieving similar symptoms than traditional products.
